President - Leah M. Heise, Esq.
Admitted to practice law in both the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia since 1994, Leah worked for the Federal Government for ten years at the United States Coast Guard and at the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration’s Office of General Counsel for Enforcement for ten years. She brings with her strong management aptitude and the experience of opening a multimillion dollar Administrative Law Judge Docketing Center for the United States Coast Guard. There, Leah utilized existing procedural regulations for case management and created one of the first paperless workflow systems for the Federal Government. Leah’s big picture thinking earned her the Commandant’s Award for Achievement, the highest Award that can be given to a civilian employee of the United States Coast Guard.
Having suffered with chronic panreatitis, Leah understands how a patient feels to need a drug that is stigmatized and will work diligently with our staff, medical practitioners and the community to eradicate the stigma associated with the treatment of patients through medical cannabis. She has immersed herself in the medical cannabis industry in Maryland as a frequent attendee at the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission Meetings, Women Grow Meetings and meetings of Americans for Safe Access and is committed to staying up to date on all aspects of the rapidly evolving cannabis industry.
